MIELI Without Borders offers 2 trainings in English that are free of charge

  • TOIVO facilitators training – 2x per year
  • KOTU training – 1x per year

About KOTU training (14 hours)

KOTU is designed to help participants explore how migration and integration affects our mental well-being. The training provides information about the effects of immigration on mental health and tools for supporting mental health. The training is carried out over two days and participants receives a certificate from MIELI ry upon completion.

About TOIVO facilitators training (9 hours)

In this training, participants explore mental health and wellbeing, get to know the TOIVO -group model and are equipped with facilitation skills and materials as well as safer space guidelines to lead their own TOIVO groups.

TOIVO peer group model was developed with the thought of “act-feel-apprehend”. This means, that TOIVO groups plan activities related to well-being and discuss how the activities impact their lives and mental well-being together. TOIVO groups are designed to enable groups to make small changes in their daily lives that would affect their mental health positively.

After this training, you will be able to form your own TOIVO group with a co-facilitator where MITTI and MIELI Without Borders will fund your group activities.
