As a volunteer, you can do something important. In our association, MIELI Without Borders (MIELI ilmanrajoja) you are strengthening mental health for migrants and foreign language-speakers across Finland.
You can participate in many ways. You don’t need any special skills or previous experience. Even a small act counts. Helping others makes you feel good too.
You can participate in many ways:
- The Multiplier – Hosting and facilitating workshops or sessions, such as Mental Health Mondays, by guiding conversations, activities, and shared learning.
- Community leader – Leading and organising community activities — such as sports, book clubs, art, nature walks, and other group gatherings — that help people connect and strengthen well-being.
- TOIVO facilitator – After completing your TOIVO facilitator training, you will be able to facilitate a successful TOIVO group with a co-facilitator in whatever language you choose with to explore ways to maintain and support well-being through action.
- Story teller – Help share mental health information and community stories through blogs, social media, and other communication channels.
- Event Buddy – Help create a welcoming atmosphere at events by greeting participants, guiding people, helping with registrations, preparing food, cleaning up, or jumping in where help is needed.
- Bring your own ideas to life – Turning your ideas into action for migrant mental health. Whether you want to start a new group, organise an activity, or try out a fresh way to support mental well-being, we want to hear from you!
Let’s find a form of participation that suits you.
Come along and do good together!
