Body and Mind
Psychoeducation and Stabilising Exercises
Adapting to a new culture while also coming to terms with one’s past life experiences and losses is always a significant challenge. In addition, many people who have arrived as refugees or asylum seekers have experienced traumatic events. Mental health symptoms often emerge once everyday life has become more stable and immediate concerns no longer require constant attention.
Our Body and Mind groups, as well as Body and Mind themed sessions, provide participants with information, peer support, and practical tools for improving wellbeing. The group model has been designed to reduce stress, regardless of its underlying causes.
Group Collaboration
Serene offers Body and Mind themed sessions for existing groups in Turku and the surrounding areas, for example as part of integration services or Finnish language classes.
In addition, we organise longer closed-group programmes in partnership with other organisations for shared client groups. These programmes typically consist of 6 to 10 weekly sessions lasting 1.5 to 2 hours each.
If you work with clients who could benefit from this approach, please contact us. Together, we can explore how we could best support your clients and organisation.
